I was nominated last week by Angie of Changing Pages to ‘Blog it Forward‘ with Wayfair, who are donating £50 to Habitat for Humanity every time a blog includes the Blog it Forward badge and posts about a time they’ve done a good deed – before 31st December 2015.
Habitat for Humanity helps the poorest and most vulnerable people lift themselves out of poverty by partnering with them to build their homes and communities. I’m sure that we enjoy warm and securely built homes so especially at a colder time of year, this is a great charity that we might think of supporting.
I have to say that I felt the pressure when I saw Angie’s tagged tweet mentioning my name, as I was just about to board a flight to London for a busy weekend! However when I got back to Inverness on Sunday I asked Mr B for ideas. He reminded me that he would be visiting some of our elderly/housebound/ill parishioners just before Christmas who would possibly be alone on Christmas Day (Mr B is a Rev if you didn’t know). That gave me the idea to make them some Christmas cookies to enjoy over the Christmas period, when Mr B visited them.
I kept the idea simple, just flavouring my biscuit dough with lemon and chilling it thoroughly so it made a nice crisp biscuit, and of course I needed to use my Christmas biscuit cutters!
These are currently cooling in the kitchen but these will be packaged up in a clear bag with some cheery Christmas gift wrapping ready for delivery.
To complete the challenge I am asked to nominate two of my blogging friends:
