For the third and final week of the Cooking to save money (and waste) course run by RoWAN, (See my Week 1 recap and my Week 2 recap), we were focusing on dessert courses. After a short discussion on food storage, it was time to get cooking!
We were asked to take along any fruit we had (in any form), so I took along a lime, some marmalade and also some dessicated coconut leftover from my Let’s Bake cake.
There was a whole range of fruits, chocolate, sauces and store cupboard basics to use up and we made coulis, poached fruit, crepes, popcorn with a caramel sauce, creme brulees, chocolate mouse and fruit salad! Not bad for less than two hours work and some items that we already had!
